Tijdens de International Darts League in mei en de Bavaria World Darts Trophy in september zullen enkele PDC-darters meestrijden om de titel. Niet eerder gooiden spelers van de PDC (Professional Darts Council) hun pijlen bij een toernooi van de BDO (British Darts Organisation). Daar komt nu dus verandering in bij de International Darts League in mei en de Bavaria World Darts Trophy in september. Met instemming van de BDO en PDC is SBS 6 dit overeengekomen met Schoofs Management & Events/Maximum Score; organisator van beide dartstoernooien. Doel van het besluit is om beide toernooien nog aantrekkelijker te maken voor de bezoekers en de kijkers.

Ook is afgesproken dat er vanaf dit jaar bij de World Darts Trophy niet langer een damestoernooi wordt georganiseerd.
